Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum sympathized with victims of Konduga Bomb blast who are currently receiving medical treatment at the state Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.
The victims were attacked by three suicide bombers on sunday evening, at Mandrari community of Konduga lacal government area of the state.
While addressing Newsmen Gov. Zulum announced that Borno State Government will take the responsibility of their medical bills.
He further reiteratated his administration's commitment to strengthen the system of the hospital in responding to emergencies. He also directed the hospital management to submit their requirements for the expansion of the emergency unit of the hospital immediately.
The Medical Director, Dr. Laraba Bello who recieved the Governor, took him round the wards to see the victims. Dr. Bello explained that, the victims numbering 42, were admitted at various wards of the hospital according their degrees of injuries, while some of them were already discharged.
Moreover, the Director rescue operations of the state emergency management agency (SEMA) confirmed the death of 30 persons.
Governor Zulum was accompanied in the visit by the speaker Borno State House of Assembly Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, Permenant secretaries and other top Government officials.
