The Vatican has released an official document which had called transgenderism a bid to 'annihilate nature'.

 The text called 'Male And Female He Created Them' has also said that people can't choose or change their genders and insists on the sexual 'complementarity' of men and women to make babies.

The publication of the documents comes during LGBT Pride Month and was quickly denounced by LGBT Catholics as contributing to bigotry and violence against gay and transgender people.

Advocacy group New Ways Ministry said it would further confuse individuals questioning their gender identity or sexual orientation and at risk of self-harm.

The new 'guidance' was intended to help Catholic teachers, parents, students and clergy address what the Vatican's Congregation for Catholic Education called an 'educational crisis' in the field of sex education.

It called for a 'path of dialogue' and listening on the issue of 'gender theory' in education.

But even priestly advocates for LGBT Catholics noted that the text appeared to have relied entirely on previous papal pronouncements, Vatican documents and philosophers and theologians.

'The real-life experiences of LGBT people seem entirely absent from this document,' said Father James Martin, a Jesuit priest who wrote a book on improving Catholic Church outreach to the LGBT community, titled Building A Bridge.

We should welcome the congregation's call to dialogue and listening on gender, and I hope that conversation will now begin.' he continued

Pope Francis has repeatedly argued the position that people cannot choose their genders.

According to Associated Press the document represents the first attempt to put the Vatican's position, first articulated fully by Pope Benedict XVI in a 2012 speech, into a comprehensive, official text.

The document called for a new alliance among families, schools and society to offer a 'positive and prudent sexual education' in Catholic schools so children learn the 'full original truth of masculinity and femininity'.

 It called gender fluidity a symptom of the 'confused concept of freedom' and 'momentary desires' that characterise post-modern culture.

 It rejected terms such as 'intersex' and 'transgender' and said the purpose of the biological 'complementarity' of the male and female sex organs was to ensure procreation.

 Francis DeBernardo, head of New Ways Ministry, said such concepts are outdated, misinformed and ignore contemporary science on factors beyond visible genitalia that determine gender.

 'Gender is also biologically determined by genetics, hormones and brain chemistry - things not visible at birth,' Mr DeBernardo said in a statement.

 People do not choose their gender, as the Vatican claims, they discover it through their lived experiences.'

 He said the Catholic Church should encourage this process of discovery, saying it's 'a process by which individuals discover the wonderful way that God has created them'.

Delhi Police Cyber Crime Unit on Saturday, June 8, arrested three Nigerian nationals for allegedly cheating people of lakhs of rupees in the name of matrimonial proposals, visa assistance and job offers.

The accused, identified as Franklyn Chinedu Uzowuihe (32), Ukegbu Emmawuel Chigozie (40) and Samuel Chizoba (34), had been staying illegally in India for over four years, after their visas expired.

 "They have cheated dozens of people on the pretext of providing visa assistance, marriage inducement, foreign jobs, etc. They used to contact people on various social media platforms and offer services for obtaining visa of various countries. They would then induce the unsuspecting victims to deposit money, ranging from 25,000 to 3.5 lakhs, in various bank accounts," a police release said.

The gang was busted after the Cyber Crime Unit received a complaint where a man was asked to deposit over Rs 2 lakh rupees in various
bank accounts.

"A complaint was received at Cyber Crime Unit in which the complainant had alleged that he was cheated by a group of unknown persons on the pretext of friendship/marriage. He was induced by the accused persons to deposit around Rs. 2.5 lakh in various bank accounts to get a so called gift/parcel cleared from customs which was supposedly sent for him from the UK," the release said.

"Later, when he did not receive any parcel and accused persons started asking for more money, he got suspicious and refused to give the money," it said.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and further investigation is underway.

 The ruling comes just a month after Kenya's high court upheld its laws criminalizing homosexuality. Under section 164 of Botswana's Penal Code, "carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature," was an offense that carried a maximum sentence of seven years imprisonment. Section 167 made "acts of gross indecency" whether in public or private a punishable offense, with up to two years in prison.

The case was brought to court in March by Letsweletse Motshidiemang, a 21-year-old student at the University of Botswana, who argued that society had changed and that homosexuality was more widely accepted, local media reported.

While homophobic attitudes continue to prevail in parts of the country, Botswana's LGBTQ activists and supporters have marked some victories for the movement in recent years.

The 2010 Employment Act made it illegal for employers to terminate contracts on the basis of sexual orientation, and two landmark rulings in October and December 2017 laid the foundation for trans people to more easily change their official gender on identity documents.

Today's historic ruling is a win for LGBTQ activists and supporters in a country and region where homosexuality remains largely taboo. Out of 54 African countries, at least 32 of them have enacted laws making it illegal to have gay sex, according to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).

In parts of Somalia, and in Sudan, it is punishable by death; in Mauritania the death penalty is a possible punishment. In Tanzania, being convicted of having same-sex relations can result in life sentences while in Nigeria the Punishment is up to 10 - 14 years in prison.

42-year-old man arrested for rape in Enugu, blames wife for sex starving him (photos)

A 42 year old man has been arrested by men of the Enugu state police command for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.

 Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the story online, said the suspect after his arrest, blamed his wife who he said had been starving him of sex.

We received a distress call from a concerned Nigerian who reported a case of rape against a minor.

STORY

16 year old was sent on an errand by her Aunt at about 8:15pm. On her way back, she discovered she was been followed by an unknown man. This scared her and she started running. The man ran after her, got hold of her and dragged her to back of a Container/Shop, tore her underwear.

 The victim's continuous shout for help, attracted our witness No 1, who reached out and called other witnesses informing them someone was shouting for help. The perpetrator held her down, covered her mouth and threatened to kill her if she keeps shouting.

Witness No 1 and others rescued the victim but unfortunately the rapist escaped.Witness No 1, got home and saw his neighbor with same cloth the rapist wore and looking dirty. The victim was brought in and she identified the man as the person who forcefully tore her underwear to rape her.

BBI Enugu reported the case to Trans Ekulu Police Station, Enugu and suspect is currently detained.

He didn't deny d allegations but said his wife starved him of sex. The wife showed us her recent surgery and stitches are yet to be removed.

Okorocha arrives NASS complex, denied accreditation

The 9th Assembly is currently being inaugurated and Okorocha who won the March 9th Imo West Senatorial district in controversial circumstances, had arrived the Assembly complex and expected that he be inaugurated.

Alabama governor signs new bill requiring child sex offenders to undergo chemical castration

Governor of Alabama Kay Ivey has signed a bill into law on Monday night that would require the chemical castration of certain sex offenders as a condition of parole.

The bill, passed by the state legislature last week, requires male offenders whose offense involved a child under the 13 to “undergo chemical castration treatment in addition to any other penalty or condition prescribed by law.”

 The law would require the sex offenders to foot the bill for the treatment but would “prohibit a person from being denied parole because of indigency.”

State Rep. Steve Hurst (R), who sponsored the bill and had backed similar measures for over a decade, reportedly said, “Not only did I want it to pass, I want to follow it on through to the future where we can try to improve it. One of the ultimate goals that I want to do is for us to track it and to make sure what medication works for what individuals.”

Other states, including Florida and California, have passed similar laws, but American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama Executive Director Randall Marshall told AL.com that the option has rarely been used and that it likely violates the Constitution’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment.

“It’s not clear that this actually has any effect and whether it’s even medically proven,” Marshall said. “When the state starts experimenting on people, I think it runs afoul of the Constitution.”

State Sen. Cam Ward (R), the bill’s state Senate sponsor, said the law was unlikely to be frequently applied, as most people convicted of sex offenses against children will not be up for parole.

the Ogun State Police Command said on it had arrested one Philip Efosa for allegedly robbing one Uber driver of his car in Lagos.

On Monday, the Ogun State Police Command said on it had arrested one Philip Efosa for allegedly robbing one Uber driver of his car in Lagos.  

Efosa, according to the command, was arrested on Sunday after he and his accomplice, who escaped, allegedly snatched a Toyota Corolla car with number plate GUS 15 RU from the driver at gunpoint.    

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement that Efosa was arrested by policemen, who laid ambush for him in the Ibafo area of the state.  Oyeyemi said the suspect was planning to escape with the stolen vehicle when men of the Ibafo Police Division received information about the car via the control room.

He said, “Men of the Ogun State Police Command on June 9, 2019, arrested one Philip Efosa, 29, with a Toyota Corolla car with number plate GUS 15 RU, which was snatched at gunpoint in Lagos.  “His arrest followed a message received from the police control room that a Toyota Corolla car was snatched by two armed men at the Eleko area of Lagos and that the robbers were heading towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with the said car.

“The DPO, Ibafo Division, Abiodun Ayinde, quickly led his Anti-Robbery team to the road, where they laid ambush for the hoodlums. About an hour later, the vehicle was sighted by the policemen coming driving against traffic and heading towards Ibadan but was blocked by the police team. The two occupants quickly jumped out and took to their heels, but they were pursued by the policemen and one of them was apprehended, while the other escaped.

“On interrogation, the arrested suspect confessed that he and his accomplice called the driver of the car, who was using it for Uber service, to convey them to somewhere for an agreed fee before they snatched the car from him at gunpoint with the intention of taking it to Ibadan in order to sell it.” 

The PPRO added that the state Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had directed that the suspect and the exhibit be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad where it would be transferred to Lagos, where the crime was committed.  Oyeyemi said Makama urged members of the public to report cases on time so as to ensure quick response by the police.

INEC has not issued my certificate of return as a senator-elect yet - Rochas Okorocha

The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, on Monday said that the Independent National Electoral Commission is yet to issue him with a Certificate of Return as the Imo West senator-elect despite a federal High Court’s judgment ordering the electoral umpire to do so.

Okorocha in a statement issued in Owerri, the state capital, by his media aide, Sam Onwuemedo, said that the picture circulating online where Okorocha was holding a Certificate of return was “fake”.

He said that Nigerians would be duly informed when INEC issues him(Okorocha) his certificate of return.

The statement read partly, “The attention of the former governor of lmo State,  His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha has been drawn to fake photo news showing where he is holding what appears like a  certificate purportedly issued to him by INEC.  

“The photograph in question expectedly has been trending on social media. And we have been receiving calls from well-meaning Nigerians to that effect, either congratulating the former governor or to confirm the authenticity of the photo news.  

“The truth is that the photograph is fake and didn’t emanate from us. On our side,  we don’t engage in awkward actions. “When the former governor and the senator-elect for lmo West senatorial District receives his certificate of Return, we will duly inform the general public.

 The immediate past governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha, at the end of his administration elevated the polytechnic to a university status and appointed a Vice Chancellor.

 Okorocha moved the polytechnic to Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state. However, in a statement issued in Owerri, the state capital by the Secretary to the state government, Uche Onyeagucha said that the governor has reversed the institution to its original status.

 The governor, according to the statement has appointed an acting rector, following the retirement of Wance Madu.

The statement reads “the visitor to Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo and the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha CON, has directed the immediate reopening of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo for normal academic activities.

“Resultant upon the expiration of the tenure of the Rector who has since proceeded on terminal leave, the most senior academic staff in the Polytechnic Dr. Paddy N. Njoku is hereby appointed the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic effective from today June 10, 2019.

The Polytechnic community and all Stakeholders thereof are advised to cooperate and accord him all necessary support.”

Suspected herdsmen kidnap woman and her stepson in Ondo State: demand N10million ransom

A woman identified as Olawumi Adeleye and her stepson, Destiny Paul were allegedly abducted on Airport Road, in Osi town in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.  

The victims were said to have been kidnapped by the bandits described as 'herdsmen' on their way from the church on Sunday evening.  

According to a report by Punch, the herdsmen blocked the road with cows forcing the victims, who were in a Lexus car to stop. They were thereafter abducted and taken to an unknown destination by the bandits.

The report said, “Mrs Adeleye was coming from the church with her boy, suddenly the Fulani herdsmen put scores of their cows on the road. As the woman was trying to make a U-turn, to escape from the scene, they attacked her and damaged her car and later took her away with the boy.” 

However, a family source stated that after some hours, the kidnappers contacted the husband of the woman and demanded N10million ransom.  

The Police Public Relations Officer of the State, Femi Joseph, said the men of the command had begun to trail the hoodlums.  “We have already swung into action, and we will soon get the victims free, unhurt. We have also started an investigation into the incident”.  

In a reaction, the monarch of Osi town, Oba David Olajide who confirmed the incident alleged that the two victims were abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen on their way from the church.  Oba Olajide said, “It happened very close to the Akure Airport, they were kidnapped around 5:20pm yesterday (Sunday evening).”

So, 3 police officers attached to Urban Patrol, Enugu Police Command last Friday stopped a 

Sienna Car conveying passengers from Awka to Abuja somewhere at Opi junction Nsukka.
In the course of conducting extortion-induced search, they saw a lap top and two phones with a youngman in the car and decided, against protests by the passengers, to take them to their station to check the youngman's laptop and phones to ascertain that he's not a 'Yahoo boy'.
On their way, they asked the youngman to settle them along the way as he may pay more if they get to the station. They demanded 500k from him. The youngman pleaded until they agreed to collect 30k to free him.
Meanwhile, after several hours of delay by the police officers, the other passengers left the youngman to continue their journey to Abuja.
The police officers eventually took the young man to a corner close to their station where they eventually agreed to collect the 30k ransom.
They then took him to a bank where he withdrew the money and gave them. He had to pay another transport fare to continue his journey. A clear case of Abduction, Hostage-Taking, Blackmail and Robbery.

UPDATE ON THE CASE

The OC Urban Patrol, Enugu State called me this morning in respect of this petition which I was planning to dispatch to the CP Enugu this morning. He said someone who read the petition on a platform forwarded it to him yesterday and he was appalled.
He said he was able to identify the men who, after initial denial, admitted that they committed the crimes as adumbrated in the petition.
He unreservedly condemned the actions of his men and has asked them to immediately raise the 30k they robbed from the youngman as well as the extra cost he incurred paying for transport a second time to continue his journey to Abuja.
He also promised to deal 'departmentally' with the 'greedy officers' as he described them, for deterrence.
He has mandated the officers to immediately call the victim, apologise to him and collect his account details for the refunds.
He has also personally called and apologised to the victim and asked him to confirm to him as soon as he receives the refunds.

Today, President Buhari in Abuja welcomed the support of the Italian government to help recover and repatriate illegally deposited Nigerian assets in foreign countries.

President Buhari spoke when he received a delegation from the Italian Parliament led by Senator Vito Petrocelli, Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs at State House.

The Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Stefano Pontesilli, who accompanied the delegation, while conveying the message of the Italian Government had told the Nigerian leader: ‘‘We are willing to cooperate with your administration 100 per cent on illicit assets repatriation.’’

Responding, President Buhari commended the Italian government for demonstrating ‘‘open-mindedness’’ and willingness to cooperate with Nigeria on the issue of repatriation of stolen funds.

 The President while acknowledging the good wishes of the Italian government in the aftermath of the February 23 presidential election, told the delegation that his second term in office would consolidate on the progress recorded in the last four years in the country. He also used the occasion to remind developed countries to do the needful on reviving Lake Chad.

‘‘Lake Chad is now 10 per cent of what it used to be. At least 30 million people around it benefit from fishing, farming and animal husbandry. The drying up of Lake Chad has forced some people to defy the Sahara desert and the Mediterranean in their bid to get to Europe,’’ he said.

President Buhari thanked the Italian government for its policy of accommodating displaced persons, particularly African refugees. The President also appreciated the Italian delegation for emphasizing the cordial relationship between Nigeria and Italy and the need to establish a ‘‘bilateral committee on friendship’’ that would identify areas of cooperation and work collectively.

The trial of Touyo Omatsuli, a former Executive Director on Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and Francis Momoh resumed today, Monday 10th June, 2019 at the Federal High Court before Justice Saliu Seidu sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos.

At today's proceedings, a prosecution witness, Ibinabo Micheal West told the Court how he transferred in tranches the total sum of N3.6 billion to the fourth defendant company, Building Associate Limited, owned by the second defendant, Francis Momoh on the instruction of the first defendant, Touyo Omasuli.

Ibinabo West, a business man working in PortHarcourt futher told the court that he was awarded a contract with the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to recover debt owed by the oil companies operating within the Niger Delta region.

"The oil companies were to remit a three percentage annual budget to the NDDC which they were not remitting in full rather they were doing it at will. My services and company Starline Consultancy Services was awarded the contract to recover the debt owed the Commission by the oil companies and I was given a four years mandate. I was also going to be paid ten percent of the recovered money".

Testifying further, Ibinabo said "I recovered over One Hundred Billion Naira, and I was paid about Twelve Billion Naira. While I was receiving payments, I was approached by the then Executive Director Finance, directing my attention to the harassment by the Niger Delta Youth, that they sometime lock up their gates and made several demands, so he said in order to cushion the effects on them, each time I am paid, I should appreciate them, so they can reach out to the youths".

"A Diamond Bank account was sent to me belonging to Building Associate Limited and I transferred a total amount of N3.6 Billion Naira to that account in tranches.

Ibinabo, who is the fourth prosecution witness, also told the court that his attention was drawn by the then Executive Director of Finance that the EFCC was investigating the works of NDDC and Starline Services. "The first defendant called me, that he would send the third defendant and I should give a sub consultancy make up Letter to Building Associate Limited, which was to explain the money I gave to them, to reach out to the youth and I obliged".

The Sub Consultancy make up letter, Offer of Contract Letter and Acceptance Letter we're tendered by the prosecution counsel, Ekene Iheanacho, and admitted in evidence by the court.

Ibinabo, during cross-examination by the defence, told the court when asked if all the money paid to him by NDDC was proceeds of crime. He responded, that the money was earned, as he worked for it, and the money he paid for the Niger Delta youth, are not illegal funds, or money used to bribe NDDC officials to release his funds, and the said money was not paid directly into the first defendants accounts.

Counsel to the second, third and fourth defendant, Norrison Quakers, during cross examination asked the witness if he knew him and how? The witness told the court that he knows the SAN, while at EFCC office, “I, the first defendant and the third defendant were asked to bring a SAN to take us on bail, so i paid the SAN to take the third defendant on bail as i already had another SAN taking me on bail”.

He further asked if he made a statement at the EFCC office. Ibinabo admitted that he made statements to the EFCC when he was invited by the Commission, the counsel sought to tender the statements made at EFCC. Justice Seidu admitted it in evidence and marked it exhibit ET 09 A & B.

The witness further told the court that he wrote in his statement that the Director of Finance instructed him to pay the money into Building Associate Limited account, he told the court that he participated in the bid to get the contract for the recovery of the debts, as he has another oil Company and is abreast of the activities of NDDC, and the contract was gotten on his own without any influence from the defendants.

The defendants, who were charged alongside their companies, Don Parker Properties Limited and Building Associates Limited respectively, were arraigned on November 10, 2018 on a 45-count charge bordering on conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N3,645,000,000 (Three Billion, Six Hundred and Forty-Five Million Naira).

The defendants pleaded “not guilty” to the charges preferred against them and were subsequently granted bail on November 16, 2018 in the sum of N100 million each with two sureties in like sum. Justice Seidu adjourned the case to June 11, 25 and 26, 2019 for continuation of trial.

Presiding Justice of the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal, M. L Garba has joined the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal replacing Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa.

Garba was on the five-man panel on Monday. Justice Bulkachuwa recused herself as a member and head of the five-man panel on May 22, following the allegation of the likelihood of bias levelled against her by the PDP and Atiku.

The petitioners had alleged in their earlier application filed on May 16, 2019 that with the judge remaining as a member and head of the five-man tribunal, their petition would not be handled impartially.

According to Mail Online, the accuser, Brazilian model Najila Trindade Mendes de Souza has been informed by her lawyer that she faces seeing her case against the Paris Saint-Germain star collapse except there is more evidence. She also faces losing the second lawyer to represent her after he said he could not carry on if his professional ‘trust’ in her was compromised.

Trindade's attorney Danileo Garcia de Andrade said he still believed Ms. Trindade had a case, but he would step aside if there was a lack of evidence.
