Kanu Nwankwo’s Testimonial Match in Lagos

Nwankwo Kanu is Nigeria Super eagle team football player who is Africa’s most decorated football player, with a large collection of accolades from Premier Leagues across Europe and FIFA competition and is giving back to the African continent, through the Foundation.

Kanu Nwankwo will be marking the end of his international football career with a Testimonial Match scheduled for tomorrow Saturday 11th of June 2011, at Testimonial in Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The following players are expected to honour him tomorrow as he says goodbye to international football are: Samuel Eto’o and Rigobert Song of Cameroon, Alex Song of Arsenal, Ghana’s Samuel Essien, Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari. Emmanuel Adebayor from Togo, Senegal’s El Hadj Diouf, Cote d’ Ivoire’s Didier Drogba, Yaya and Kolo Toure. Kanu’s Portsmouth team mate Aaron Mokoena, together with South African compatriot Siphiwe Tshabalala, are also expected to play.

To illustrate how big his heart was, Kanu Nwankwo in July 31st 2000, set up a heart foundation for the treatment of less privileged children diagnosed with heart related disease. So far the foundation has successfully treated more than 3,000 children. He is presently the Nigeria Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Children's Fund.
